Kid~ and Parent~Pleasing
SCRUMPTIOUS SMOOTHIE
Pediatrician and father of eight William Sears, M.D.,
provides the following recipe for what he calls, "School~Ade,"
a calcium~packed smoothie, in The A.D.D. Book (Little, Brown,
1998), written with Lynda Thompson.
4 ounces plain
yogurt
6 large frozen strawberries, sliced
1 frozen banana, sliced
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 scoop Juice Plus lite
(French vanilla or Dutch chocolate)
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 serving lecithin |
1 tablespoon
honey, optional
Any nutrient or supplement the child needs but won't otherwise
take
Additional liquid, such as milk, juice, or rice or soy beverage.
Mix first nine ingredients. In blender,
process until smooth. Add additional liquid until smoothie is
desired consistency. Blend again. Serve immediately. |
